- SENIOR
Programme:-
is for children above the age of 10 years. As these students
show more focus/ concentration and the zeal to progress, the
emphasis is on serious tennis drills and games.
Both
the Junior and Senior categories enroll as Beginners
and
then graduate to the Intermediate
level
and then to the Advanced
programme.
Their progress is based on periodic reviews and structured
evaluations, by our coaches. To progress from Beginner to
Intermediate may take about 8 – 10 months of continuous
training and about one year from Intermediate to Advanced.
Progress
will also depend on the physical and mental skills/ ability of
the child and the regularity of training.
At
Kinesis, it is recommended that Juniors and Seniors in the
Beginner
category
play a minimum of 4 hours/ week and Intermediates
play
an average of 6 hours/week. Students in the Advanced
programme should
try and play the maximum possible hours, upto a limit of 12
hours/week. At Kinesis, a tennis-specific cross-training
basketball programme has been developed with the assistance of
R.
Rajan,
former
international basket ball player and coach.
Rajan has the rare achievement of captaining the Indian team
for 4 years and representing the national team for 14
consecutive years.
KINESIS
- MENTAL TENNIS What
do Roger Federer, Venus Williams , Rafeal Nadal, and Maria
Sharapova have in common? Obviously all of them have excelled
in tennis and have won many championships but what separates
these champions from many other talented tennis players? A key
difference is that these great players possess tremendous
mental skills along with their tennis talent and physical
skills. They have developed these mental skills through
continuous training.
Kinesis
has a qualified Sports Psychology team that is keen to make’
Mental Tennis’ a part of every ADVANCED players tennis
training.
Please
call Mr Krishna Kumar (KINESIS) on 9844030073 or Ms
Nivedita Rajan (KINESIS) on 98440 39325 to enroll in the
Mental Tennis programme.

Indiranagar
Sangeetha Sabha is situated in Indiranagar, Bangalore,
popularly known as the 'Garden City' of India. Being the
capital of Karnataka state, Bangalore has a rich cultural
tradition that has sustained the age-old art of Music and
Dance. Indiranagar Sangeetha Sabha was formed with the main
objective of carrying forward this rich cultural heritage and
popularising it among the young and old.
Since its
inauguration in July 2004 by the President of India, during
the course of which he forcefully urged Indiranagar Sangeetha
Sabha to become a ’Centre for Excellence’,
‘Purandara Bhavana’, the Centre of the Sabha, has
indeed come a long way.
A Music and Dance School for
Indiranagar: Nurturing the cultural values among the young
generation started running music classes in Carnatic Vocal and
Veena as well as in 'Sugam Sangeeth' and Devaranamas. The idea
was to give structured education in classical music at
affordable fees to the younger genegration and besides giving
an appreciation-cum-practice course, to enable the interested
students to take the examinations conducted by the Karnataka
Secondary Education Board. The school was also intended to
help revive waning interest in classical music among the
public.
A matter of immense satisfaction has been the
response from the community around us towards the running of
our Music and Dance School which, from a modest beginning with
about thirty students in 2004, in 2007 has on its rolls over
400 students! A number of dedicated teachers, who are
performers in their own right, constitute the faculty of the
School. Sabha's School for Performing Arts. Office hours
10.00am
to 1.00pm & 3.00pm to 8.00pm Weekly
Holiday for the office is on Thursdays.
Tel
:
65711214.
The
school(Indiranagar Sangeetha Sabha) curriculam has been
augmented and a library is under development. The disciplines
in which instruction is offered have been expanded and now
cover:
Vocal
(Carnatic) - Weekdays and Weekends
Vocal
(Hindustani )
Veena
Violin
- Weekdays & Weekends
Keyboard
(Carnatic)
Flute
Sitar
Tabla
Mrudangam
Dance
(Bharathnatyam)
Experienced teachers take these
classes on specified days of the week. The music and dance
school with a very reasonable fee structure has over 260
students on its rolls, including a few challenged students.
The building now resonates with musical activity. Encouraged
by the response from the public, the Sabha is contemplating
starting classes shortly in the mornings for housewives
desirous of learning classical vocal or Sugama Sngeeth, both
in Carnatic and Hindustani styles.

BALAVIHAR,
CHINMAYA MISSION, C M H Road, Indiranagar, Bangalore Love
is to the human heart what sunshine is to the flowers."
Being the visionary that he was, Swami Chinmayananda saw that
in the hi-tech urban civilization both sunshine and love would
be hard to come by. Anticipating this need, he started the
Balavihars. A group of 10 to 25 children meet at a certain
place on a weekly basis and the children and the
sevaks/sevikas
learn
the art of living in love, the Hindu way. The idea is to
provide an environment where the personality of the child
blossoms in a spontaneous way. Good conduct, emotional
refinement, intellectual finesse and spiritual awareness are
developed by mature sevaks
through
fun and play, and through stories and bhajans. Sometimes it is
through tears, but more often through smiles; sometimes
through strictness, but mostly by persuasion. The children are
encouraged to be responsible, alert and sensitive members of
society. Swamiji believed that just as the strength of a wall
depended on the quality of each brick, so too, the health of a
society depended on the individuals. If the individuals are
healthy, the society is healthy. His strategy for building a
new society was to "Catch 'em young."
